The Microfluidizer (M110P by Microfluidics Corp) is an efficient, pressurized cell lysis system, ideal for both bacteria and yeast. Samples are passed through a ceramic chamber at high-pressure producing strong sheer forces which break microbial cells but can maintain many macromolecular structures within. Users are required to provide maintenance solutions for their own runs (water, 70%(v/v) isopropanol in water, and 2%(w/v) NaOH in water).
