The facility has a technician operated Beckman Coulter Optima XLA-70 Analytical Ultracentrifuge. The instrument is equipped ultraviolet optics useful for sedimentation velocity, sedimentation equilibrium, and diffusion experiments. Run temperatures are available from 4ºC to 40ºC; with speeds up to 60,000rpm (~260,000 x g). There is no user training on this instrument, users should coordinate with Dr. Martin Phillips (using contacts link on the top bar) to get information about applications and sample preparation.
